Lavender Lemon

Supplies

Preferred soap mold

1 pound preferred soap base, cubed (we used shea butter)
Zest of 1 lemon, dried
Handful dried lavender buds
Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
Large microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl
Spoon
Whisk
Preferred essential oils (we used lavender and lemon)

Instructions

Lightly coat the soap mold with rubbing alcohol, this helps eliminate air bubbles that will naturally form.
In your measuring cup or bowl, microwave the cubed soap base, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted. (This should take about one minute and 30 seconds.)
As soon as it is melted, add 15-20 drops of essential oils, ½ of the lemon zest, and ½ of the lavender. Whisk to combine, but do not whisk too hard or it will introduce extra air bubbles.
Immediately pour the mixture into the molds. You must work quickly or the mixture will begin to harden.
Immediately spray the tops of each mold with rubbing alcohol to disperse any air bubbles. Sprinkle remaining lemon zest and lavender buds on top of soap and then leave the mold alone for at least 20 minutes to set before moving it.
Cover and transfer to the freezer for 2 hours for a quick finish, or you can allow it to sit out overnight.
Remove soaps from mold and enjoy!

Supplies

Preferred soap mold

1 pound preferred soap base, cubed (we used oatmeal)
1 cup coffee grounds
Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
Large microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl
Spoon
Whisk
Vanilla essential oil

Instructions
